Our activities
Something for all tastes!
“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31)
How many times have you woken up on a Sunday morning and said, “I am so tired; I really don’t have any energy for church,” but then you went and worshipped, and afterwards you were more energised? Worship renews. It strengthens. It grows faith and restores joy. Why not join us at one of our services and see for yourself?
Both St Luke's and St Paul's follow a pattern of worship throughout a given month that includes a variety of different types of worship service. The different types of service include Holy Communion, Messy Church and morning prayer. All are welcome to any of our services - any age from new babe to spritely pensioner! In this way, we begin to celebrate the variety of worship to our God and hope to offer flexible, appropriate worship for all.
Communion
See our schedule of services for details
Holy Communion is celebrated by the whole people of God gathered for worship. The ministry of the members of the congregation is expressed through their active participation together in the words and actions of the service.
See our schedule of services for details of when you can join us for Communion.
MIDWEEK and HOME HOLY COMMUNION
Every Wednesday at 10.00am in St Luke's (except August).
We are always happy to arrange a Home Communion for anyone unable to attend church or when a visit may be needed at home or in hospital for you or someone else. Please also let us know in cases of sickness and emergency. We do rely on you to let us know of any such needs.
Prayer for healing and wholeness
1st Sunday each month at St Paul's and 2nd Sunday of every alternative month at St Luke's
This is available at St Paul's within the 10am service on the 1st Sunday of each month and at St Luke's within the 10am on the 2nd Sunday of every alternative month plus after every service and at any time by arrangement with the clergy.
Informal worship services
4th Sunday at St Paul's
At St Paul's we have our more relaxed worship service on 4th Sunday each month. This features our wonderful live music group who lead us through some more modern songs of praise with the words for all on the big screen. It is still church but in a more relaxed atmosphere.
For Young People
Each Sunday and various dates each month
We welcome children of all ages to our churches and services and offer a range of activities for those of a younger disposition!
